No, there is a clear gap of about 12 inches between the bottom of the ball and the ground at the time of contact. He got the ball so it follows his foot was at least those 12 inches off the ground.

Re: Clattenburg
1964. And the reason one of his feet was 12 inches above the ground? That was the height of the ball.

That Sam Wallace article about Clattenburg's relationship with the referee hierarchy etc asks more questions than it answers.
You get the feeling there are some unspoken truths that it is felt can not be discussed.
Weird.

Re: Clattenburg
I have analyse this tackle very carefully from all angles using slow motion replay and this is what really happened:

1 Kouyate did not go in 2 footed, it clearly shows ONE foot.
2. His knee is bent as he went for the tackle but as he came through his leg straightened.
3. His one leg WAS of the ground by about 12 inches.
4. He did get the ball first.
5. Although he starts his tackle with his toe and instep his studs certainly hit Gayles foot which was also off the ground, and up to his ankle on the follow through.

Make of that what you will

Their left back was on the floor towards the end of the game and took a swipe at our player and was a straight red, but nothing given.
Perhaps Clattenburg did not do anything as was uncertain his "friends" hadn't cashed out their exchange bet West Ham not to win bet.

Re: Clattenburg
Sam Wallace is obviously a cunt of the highest order for writing "Kouyate launched himself with both feet off the ground." That's simply not remotely true and I have tweeted him as such the stupid fucking manchild cunt. What sort of perverse individual patently lies in their own newspaper column like that and for what purpose?

Possibly lucky to get away with that one, but not a stonewall booking in my humble.

jack flash...

Thing about Noble's tackle is that there wasn't even the slightest remonstration with the ref. If you tackle from that position and it's not 100% clean, you're going to get booked, simple as.

Re: Clattenburg
There is definitely something dodgey about Clattenburg & probably in time the truth will come out

For the record, I thought Nobles was an excellent tackle, for which he got booked, well timed & played the ball not the man. Never a booking

Reid on the other hand fully deserved the yellow card that he got. He had a poor game too

All I am saying is he was always a smug C..t in Police Academy and nothing has changed now he is a Ref.

That Telegraph article -

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/04/06/referee-mark-clattenburg-is-hung-out-to-dry-by-the-fa/

- has opened my eyes so much about Collina that I now look like him.

He likes Clattenburg as a referee.

Also, what is this non-football tattoo that the FA makes Clattenburg cover up?

Is it pornographic? Given what he's been called here, it could be very ironic...

No doubt, persistent fouling, but why wasn't the player that fouled Payet not carded?

Re: Clattenburg
Looking back, the irony of getting into Europa via Fairplay and then having a bloke sent off in every game was memorable.

I think I'd have had a heart attack if I'd watched anymore cheating, diving or play acting. Well done to Sakho for lamping that bloke in Andorra.

Says it all that the racist failed to turn up for the beers......

Just a couple of posts below my previous comment.

I've seen a couple of people question the Noble/Reid bookings on here and my old man wouldn't shut up about them at the time. That said, he never does stop moaning about referees, even when they get it right.

I think Clattenburg made Palace retake the restart after Payet's free kick and he was having a fit about it. Can't understand the mentality of screaming at the ref for 90 minutes, especially when you've just celebrated a peach of a free kick.

As for the Palace non-bookings, they may have got a little lucky, but it was more persistent fouling than a specific infringement as I saw it. I did think the challenge that was penalised with a yellow was particularly bad though. Worse than Kouyate's IMO.

Re: Clattenburg
I can't remember the incident to be fair, Tomkins didn't play in Romania as he was suspended.

There was so much cheating and play acting from the teams we played but in future we have to deal with it much better.

Noble cuffing out his cheeks and calling the Fat Italian a "fat cunt" was maybe the best moment.

I think Astra, away.

Re: Clattenburg
No-one was sent off. I think it was away from home. The bloke just ended up yards off the pitch and then rolled onto the pitch to stop the game and get 17 hours of treatment.
